About the Program: Introduction to Estate Planning for the International Family
Stan will provide an introduction to estate planning for the international family including a
discussion of how the residency rules work for income and transfer tax purposes for individuals
coming into the U.S., how the U.S. tax rules apply to a U.S. person who is a beneficiary of a foreign
trust, how nonresidents of the U.S. should structure their U.S. investments so as to minimize their
exposure to U.S. estate tax, and the use of U.S. trusts in international estate planning.
With more than 76 million people born in the United States between 1946-1964, we are in the seeing an increase in the need for aging services--- including legal, medical and affordable housing. We are also experiencing an unprecedented increase in scams, fraud and elder financial abuse, all of which threaten the safety and security of older adults and their families. This presentation will focus on strategies to help you and your clients protect their finances, wealth and health as they navigate their later years.
