About the Program: 

Aging is an Active Sport - Help Your Clients Compete

With more than 76 million people born in the United States between 1946-1964, we are in the seeing an increase in the need for aging services--- including legal, medical and affordable housing. We are also experiencing an unprecedented increase in scams, fraud and elder financial abuse, all of which threaten the safety and security of older adults and their families. This presentation will focus on strategies to help you and your clients protect their finances, wealth and health as they navigate their later years.

About the Speaker:

For more than twenty years, Barbara Mulitz has been a trusted advocate for older adults, families and caregivers. 

Before joining Vintage Financial Partners, Barbara first served as a Vice President and Senior Trust officer at Sandy Spring Trust and later as a Senior Vice President and Senior Trust Officer at Bank of America.  Focused on estate planning and aging issues, she has been a frequent speaker throughout the community on financial fundamentals, retirement transitions and elder financial abuse.

At Vintage, Barbara serves as Director of Community Engagement, leading initiatives that connect families with resources in eldercare, estate planning and financial education. She also partners closely with the Vintage Team on trust administration and advocacy for older adults

An active member of the community, Barbara has held leadership and advisory positions including: Commissioner,  Montgomery County Commission on Aging; Board Member, Eldersafe Advisory Council, Charles E. Smith Life Communities; Montgomery County Community Foundations Advisory Board; Montgomery County Adult Guardianship Review Board; Advisory Board, Montgomery County Aging in the Community; and, A Women’s Journey Advisory Board, The Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Her awards have included: The Maryland Bankers Association Council of Professional Women in Banking and Finance Achievement Award; The Newmyer Volunteer Award, Sidwell Friends School; as well as multiple internal honors from Sandy Spring Bank for embracing principles and leadership. 

A lifelong Washingtonian, Barbara earned her Juris Doctor from The American University, Washington College of Law; a Master of Medical Science from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Logistics:

  • Fees: $45 for active members; $70 for guests. 
  • Registration begins at 12:00 pm. Lunch will be served at 12:15 pm and the program begins at 12:30 p.m.
  • Guests are warmly welcome.
  • Free parking. 
  • Attendees may be photographed during the event, and these images may be used in future Council promotional or marketing materials.
